Can't it be spring already?!
Seeds and seed-starting supplies have been ordered! This year I will have 3 eggplant varieties, 14 pepper varieties, 27 tomato varieties, tomatillos, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, watermelons, and herbs. All heirloom of course! Like previous years they will be grown in organic seed starting mix and watered with rain collected by my rain barrels. I look forward to another fantastic market year. All plants will be $3 each or 2 for $5. You are welcome to come by and pick up your plants before market day or I will be at the Homegrown Alabama Farmer's Market on April 18th from 3-6! Happy to do custom orders as well and will deliver in the Tuscaloosa area for free. Contact me at sunnyseedlings@gmail.com for more information.

Fall seedlings!
This year I have some lovely kale seedlings for the garden. I have two types of heirlooms, Red Russian and Lacinato. Both are delicious! I also have many herb seedlings such as chives, dill, parsley, oregano, and cilantro. This Thursday's market will also feature some fresh cut herbs from the garden and some great seeds I saved this year that you can plant now or in the spring. Come visit us!

2 Weeks!
In exactly 2 weeks and two days the first market day will be here! Last year the market started May 3rd but this year is was moved up to April 12th. This is really exciting for me as most of what I sell generally likes to get planted around the middle of April. I look forward to this part of the market when the temperatures are a little cooler and people are excited to get out and garden. I have really enjoyed watching all of the seedlings grow and can't wait for them to find their new homes! I am also happy to say that in growing this years seedlings they have only been watered with water from our rain barrel. I have about 2 more flats of peppers and eggplant that will be ready around the first of May but until then I will have lots April 12th! Hope to see you soon!

Spring 2012!
In about 2 weeks I will start planting the tomato, pepper and eggplant seeds for this spring. This is the start of my favorite time of year! Check out the links above to see what plants I will have this year. I am working on getting descriptions and pictures with the names but with two small kids it is taking longer than I thought, so please bear with me. I aim to have the seedlings ready from the beginning to the middle of April in hopes that you can get everything planted by April 15th! You can email me with your order and I will have that ready for you in April or you can visit me at the Farmer's Market in May and I will have lots for you to choose from there. Until then Happy Gardening!
